Please Tell Me What I CAN Do

I experienced an intense AHA moment today. I was at the driving range hitting a bucket of balls and I was getting frustrated and had the sense my game was getting worse instead of better.

Have you ever struggled to achieve something, only to have it slip through your good intentions and avoid you as you focus and apply your willpower and drive?

Here are a few examples I can think of:

  • Losing weight

  • Maintaining a fitness regimen

  • Practicing daily routines – consistently – like meditation, journaling, self-care etc.

  • Finding (and keeping) a soulmate

  • Following a budget

  • Releasing guilt and worry

  • Stopping feelings of overwhelm or anxiety

I trust you can relate to one or more of my examples and I imagine you have a few of your own too!

So, back to my golfing today. I truly want to improve my game and I normally have no hesitation when it comes to asking for help… except when it comes to golf. [OK, admittedly there are maybe a handful of other situations, LOL.]

You see, there is just SO much to know and remember and EVERYONE has a unique opinion, so I find it overwhelming to process it all at times.  So, when I turned to tentatively ask for some advice, a wonderful thing happened. Before I could get the words out, I was overcome with a sense of relief as I realized that until this moment, I had been asking the wrong questions!

Instead of asking what am I doing wrong or what can I do better, I was prompted to ask what is it that is working with my swing? What am I doing well? And from this perspective, I was able to gain clarity about my strengths and was then able to approach things from a “take what you find here and make it better” point of reference.

It was truly an eye-opener and literally a game-changing moment for me. From a vibrational and frequency point of view, I maintained my vibe and as I focused on the things that were working, I could add one or two minor changes and move onwards and upwards. In the past I know I would have been thinking about everything that wasn’t right or working well and then the slippery slope would just feel steeper and steeper.

And here’s the thing… I know this isn’t rocket science, but you know what, it matters A LOT! We tend to forget to remember the things that make our lives easier and more fulfilling when we get caught up in trying too hard at life in general.

One of the most impactful truths that had been bestowed upon me is this:

The harder you try, the longer it is going to take. The reality and power of this statement is wide-reaching. The sooner we ‘remember to remember’ when we are faced with anything that doesn’t feel uplifting, aligned or good, there is always a better way. We have universal support that we can call upon through our intuition and our guidance. We simply need to pause, ask and allow an answer to come through to us. Using force, applying steadfast willpower and feeling yucky are not aligned with our hearts and will not lead us to a life that abundant with peace, harmony, freedom or any other qualities we desire.

Hi! I am Melissa, and I am honored to share this precious moment with you. In case we haven’t met, I thought I’d give you a peek into who I am and perhaps shed some light on why our paths have crossed.

I am a sensitive and loving Soul. I am a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a lover of all sorts of adventures. I am an international best-selling author and an Intuitive Life Coach specializing in self-discovery. After decades of corporate and entrepreneurial experience, I realized my calling was to help people make sense of their lives.

I love helping people find the answers to life’s most challenging questions, including ‘Why is this happening to me?’, ‘How can I recover?’ and ‘How can I create more meaning in my life?’.

I have been described as raw and relatable, and I understand why.  Throughout my life, I have experienced pain, loss, emotional distress, deep disappointments, and extended periods of self-loathing. At one point amid my darkness, I made the choice to find my light. It hit bottom, and I said to myself, enough! That’s enough!

And here we are together! I look forward to whatever the future holds for us! XOXO
